The Florida Gators have bolstered their depth at the quarterback position with the addition of transfer Clay Millen. Millen announced his commitment to the Gators on X (formerly Twitter), after spending two seasons at Colorado State, having transferred there from Nevada.

Millen, a former four-star prospect from Washington on 247 Sports, committed to Nevada as part of the high school recruiting class of 2021. As a redshirt freshman in 2022, he broke the Colorado State school record for single-season completion percentage, achieving 72 percent. This record also set the NCAA record for an FBS freshman and is the second-best mark in Mountain West history.
Millen also posted on X for the 2022 season:
“PFF Grades 2022:
-(#1 FBS) “Big Time Throw” rate passes 20+ yards downfield
-(#2 FBS) “pass grade” passes 20+ yards downfield
-(#7 FBS) “Big Time Throw”%
-(#1 FBS) “Accuracy %” (82.4%)
(#1 FBS) Completion % (72.2%)
149.8 Passer Rate”
That year, Millen passed for 1,910 yards and threw 10 touchdowns, with six interceptions in 10 games. This was quite impressive, especially as he played behind one of the nation’s most porous offensive lines and was sacked 55 times.
Despite Millen’s success in his first season as a contributing quarterback at college, his time as Colorado State’s starting quarterback was brief. He was replaced on the depth chart after a 15-for-24 performance with 110 yards and an interception against Washington State in the Rams’ 2023 season opener.
Millen will transfer to Florida as the ninth scholarship transfer. He will be the third scholarship quarterback, joining Graham Mertz and DJ Lagway. Additionally, walk-ons Aidan Warner and Parker Leise are part of the quarterback room.
