Crenshaw-Dickson, who entered the portal in late November, committed to Florida after his official visit to Gainesville this past weekend.
With one year of eligibility remaining, Crenshaw-Dickson brings valuable experience as a three-year starter for the San Diego Aztecs. He has played at both left and right tackle, standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 310 pounds. During his recruitment process, he also visited TCU, Louisville, and Virginia Tech.
Crenshaw-Dickson is the first transfer addition for Florida this cycle and is expected to compete for a starting tackle position. Throughout his playing career at the Aztecs, he appeared in 37 games. In his sophomore year in 2021, Crenshaw-Dickson started 14 games at right tackle, playing in 932 of the team’s 967 offensive snaps, the second most on the team. According to Pro Football Focus, he only allowed one sack in 403 passing chances in 2021. In the 2022 season, he transitioned to left tackle, starting 12 out of 13 games. In 2023, he made a total of 10 starts, with four at right tackle and eight at left tackle. According to Pro Football Focus, he received a pass-blocking grade of 80 for the past season, based on 329 snaps. He gave up a total of 3 sacks. His versatility in playing both tackle spots at the college level is a valuable asset. Crenshaw-Dickson has been mentioned as a potential NFL prospect and was named preseason third-team All-Mountain West this year.
On the defensive side of the ball, defensive lineman Joey Slackman committed to the Gators on Sunday. Slackman had his official visit on campus last weekend after entering the portal on November 20th.
As the 2023 Ivy League defensive player of the year, Slackman recorded impressive stats, including 50 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 4 sacks. According to the Penn athletics site, he accumulated 115 total tackles (25 tackles for a loss), 11 sacks, three deflected passes, two forced fumbles, and a blocked kick throughout his 28 game career with the Quakers.
Slackman brings an immediate impact to the Florida defensive line as one of the top defensive linemen in the transfer portal.
The 6-foot-4, 300-pound Slackman also considered North Carolina, Michigan, Virginia Tech, and Wisconsin.
