When the Florida Gators hit the road this season in conference play, something special happens. Their latest performance—a commanding 94-75 win over Ole Miss—showcased exactly why they’ve become one of the SEC’s most dangerous away teams, extending their road win streak to six straight games.

Gators Grind Out 76-62 Win Over South Carolina—And That’s the Scary Part

Offensive Firepower on Full Display

The Gators put on a shooting clinic in Oxford, converting an impressive 50% of their 3-point attempts (11-for-22)—a season-best mark that had head coach Todd Golden talking about his team’s ceiling. “When we do make shots like that, we have the ability to run away from teams,” Golden noted after the game.

Alex Condon led the charge with 24 points, adding six assists with just one turnover in what Golden called his best performance “playing fast, but not in a hurry. “Thomas Haugh added 20 points and now sits at 999 career points, while also extending his 3-point streak to 22 consecutive games—one game shy of cracking Florida’s top-10 all-time list.

The duo combined for 29 of Florida’s 43 first-half points, setting the tone early.

Bench Spark and Balanced Attack

Urban Klavžar provided a crucial spark off the bench, scoring 15 points on a scorching 4-for-5 shooting from beyond the arc while extending his own 3-point streak to 17 games. Golden praised him as “one of the best guards in league off the bench,” highlighting his shot-readiness and efficiency.

Xaivian Lee orchestrated the offense masterfully, recording an 11-point, 10-assist double-double—the first by a Gator since Tyree Appleby achieved the feat against Ole Miss in 2022. The team’s ball movement was exceptional, dishing out 26 assists on 32 made field goals.

Road Dominance Continues

This victory marked Florida’s sixth consecutive SEC road win, tying for the second-longest such streak in program history. The Gators have now won seven straight games overall and 12 of their last 13, with seven of those 13 victories coming by at least 15 points.

What makes this road success so special? According to Golden, it’s about focus and team chemistry. “There are obviously less distractions on the road,” he explained. “We’re pretty insulated. We keep it simple.”

Condon echoed that sentiment: “I think we like playing on the road a little bit better. It gets everyone juiced up.”

Looking Ahead

With this win, Florida maintains its two-game lead in the SEC regular season race with just four games remaining. Their seven-game conference win streak ties for seventh-longest in program history and represents their longest since 2017.

While turnovers remain an area of concern—19 giveaways against Ole Miss—the Gators’ offensive efficiency when taking care of the ball, combined with their increasingly dangerous 3-point shooting, makes them a formidable opponent as the season heads toward its conclusion.

As Klavžar put it: “The ceiling is crazy if we shoot 50%.”Based on this performance, Florida’s ceiling might be higher than previously imagined.
